A partnership between Hire Heroes USA, IVMF and Hiring Our Heroes, Veterans have access to three tracks of information, a basic career transition and jobs channel, a career connections track and an entrepreneurship track. Using Google’s G+ framework, VetNet offers Hangouts with career experts, business ownership faculty, entrepreneurs and people providing general career advice. Each video hangout is archived for future viewing, and live sessions are held multiple times each week.
Veterans and military spouses can apply for the Veteran Career Transition Program (VCTP), a tuition-free program run by Syracuse University with four tracks: technology, human resources, professional studies and independent study. Develop civilian job skills and the ability to translate military education, experience and training to the civilian workforce.
Member companies report their military hires on a quarterly basis to ensure progress against our goal. The Veteran Jobs Mission only reports the aggregate hiring number.

Employers benefit by exchanging knowledge, information and leading practices. This is beneficial to companies that are looking to launch a Veteran hiring initiative or enhance an existing program. The Veteran Jobs Mission companies discuss leading practices around the entire employment continuum, from recruiting and hiring to onboarding and retaining. Member companies also are recognized members of a best-in-class organization and have the opportunity to network with like-minded organizations and thought leaders who are making an impact.
There is no cost to join the Veteran Jobs Mission and no hiring quota. Members make a commitment to hire Veterans, report Veteran hires on a quarterly basis, attend face-to-face quarterly meetings and share best practices as it relates to Veteran initiatives. Members are required to sign a memorandum of understanding which outlines the aforementioned core tenants of membership. Each new member company should strongly identify with the mission by engaging in leading employment practices in the hiring of qualified Veterans.
Individually, organizations have been successful in recruiting military talent for many years. Creating collaborative working relationships with other like-minded companies to share leading practices has and will continue to make a positive impact on our collective hiring efforts. A coalition also creates a formal mechanism through which to share knowledge and talent.

The Veteran Jobs Mission is the leading private-sector solution committed to hiring U.S. Veterans and military spouses. The primary goal of its more than 200 member companies is to hire one million U.S. military Veterans for private-sector jobs. The original Veteran Jobs Mission companies hired 100,000 Veterans in less than three years and more than 300,000 Veterans in just under four years. As more members join the mission, there is an opportunity to connect Veterans with tremendous job opportunities and companies with tremendous talent.
